NYSE Opening Bell Ceremony reflections.. This past Wednesday, I had the privilege of joining Academy Securities Geopolitical Intelligence Group for the NYSE Opening Bell ceremony as well as sharing my perspective on the cyber and emerging technology threat landscape. Being in the NYSE reminded me of how my military career was dedicated to defending our nation through military strength, but this past year has deepened my awareness of the critical role of the "E" in DIME—Diplomatic, Information, Military, and Economic power—as a pillar of our national security. The New York Stock Exchange, founded in 1792, has witnessed countless turning points in American history. From the exuberance of the Roaring Twenties to the depths of the Great Depression, from the WWII defense economy to the booms and busts of the post-war eras, and through multiple attempts at corporate reform following major financial scandals—so many of our nation’s defining moments have been reflected by the ebb and flow of the market. On Wednesday morning, I couldn't help but wonder: 𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝘄𝗶𝗹𝗹 𝗳𝘂𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲 𝗴𝗲𝗻𝗲𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 𝘀𝗲𝗲 𝗮𝘀 𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗱𝗲𝗳𝗶𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗺𝗼𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗶𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗿𝘆 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗡𝗬𝗦𝗘? Will it be the way we navigated the challenges of today’s global economy, the integration of technology like AI and cyber into every facet of business, or the ongoing geopolitical shifts?
