Additionally, instead of using cells from the already sick cancer patient, Adicet uses cells from unrelated donors (allogeneic) because they are reliable and readily available allowing us to rapidly and cost-effectively scale production of these medicines and make them available when needed (“off-the-shelf”).
 
Specifically, as a clinical stage biotechnology company we are advancing a pipeline of “off-the-shelf” gamma delta T cells, engineered with chimeric antigen receptors (CAR) and T cell receptor-like antibodies (TCRL) to enhance selective tumor targeting, facilitate innate and adaptive anti-tumor immune response, and improve persistence for durable activity in patients.

Adicet is pleased to announce today that based on ADI-001's clinical data to-date and its therapeutic potential in B-cell mediated diseases, we have decided to broaden its development to autoimmune diseases.     
 
The U.S. FDA recently cleared the IND for ADI-001 in lupus nephritis and we plan to initiate this clinical study in the upcoming second quarter. In addition to initiating development in lupus nephritis, we plan to expand the program in the near-term to additional autoimmune indications.
