Today we welcome Ben Fowke as interim CEO and president of American Electric Power. Ben has served on AEP’s Board since 2022 and was previously the CEO of Xcel Energy. His experience as an industry leader will help guide our team as we continue to invest in a modern and reliable grid and transform our generation fleet.

“Together, we will continue enhancing our regulatory relationships and unlocking shareholder value by driving the company’s strategic priorities forward and delivering safe, reliable and affordable energy to our customers,” Fowke said. 


STUDENT ENGINEERS, have you considered interning with us? Dulcemaria Tlahuel began as a high school intern in 2018, and now works part-time while pursuing her bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering.
