This achievement was reached almost a month earlier than the previous record in 2023, when the four millionth passenger was recorded on 13 December. “During the first ten and a half months of 2024, Air Serbia has realised a number of projects and activities aimed at further improving the services we provide to passengers. We completed the renewal of our regional fleet, and our third wide-body Airbus A330-200, registered as YU-ARD and branded to promote EXPO 2027, has arrived. We continued expanding our network, launching flights to Guangzhou, Nice, and Mostar, and for 2025, we announced the introduction of direct flights between Belgrade and Shanghai, Ibiza, Mykonos, and Sardinia. Today, we also carried our four millionth passenger in 2024, which opens the possibility of finishing the year with a new record and exceeding the 4.19 million passengers we carried in 2023. The New Year holidays are ahead, which are a time of relaxation for most people, but for us in aviation, it's a time of increased traffic intensity. The Serbian national airline operated 4,071 flights from the airports in Belgrade, Niš, and Kraljevo in October, an increase of 49 flights compared to the same month in 2023. In the first ten months of 2024, Air Serbia recorded over 3.8 million passengers on its flights, representing a growth of 7 percent compared to the same period last year. ➡️"October, our birthday month, was very special. At the beginning of it, we welcomed our 30-millionth passenger since we began operating under the name Air Serbia, and just a few days later, a new Airbus A330-200 aircraft for long-haul flights joined our fleet. Our strategy of expanding our fleet and network of destinations has proven successful. Thanks to this, and the trust that passengers show us every day, we are recording record results month after month. We will continue to expand our network in the upcoming period by introducing direct flights to Shanghai, Ibiza, Mykonos, and Sardinia. This officially launches the pilot cadet program jointly implemented by the Aviation Academy and Air Serbia, which aims to educate ten candidates during the 2024/2025 school year for the needs of the national airline of the Republic of Serbia. "Our company aims to create better conditions for young professionals and contribute to the development of Serbian aviation together with the Aviation Academy, one of the most important educational institutions in the field of aviation in Serbia. The pilot cadet program we have jointly launched allows us to potentially employ promising young pilots immediately upon graduation. We believe that this cadet program will enable us to secure a quality and highly qualified flight crew for the future. It will offer young pilots a unique opportunity to start working for their country's national airline right after finishing the Academy, and through top-notch education, training on state-of-the-art simulators, and continuous support from senior and more experienced colleagues, they will receive the best possible enhancement of their foundational pilot education. History in the making 🌏 📷 Crew and passengers on today’s Tokyo - Belgrade charter flight JU9099, before taking off for Serbia. Today, Air Serbia is operating its first direct flight from the main airport of the capital of Japan to the capital of Serbia in the 97-year-old history of our national airline. The passengers we had the pleasure to host are Japanese businessmen coming to visit Serbia and the Balkans.
