RENEWABLE ENERGY | AirTrunk, Google and OX2 have announced a long-term PPA and a new solar farm development that will add 25 megawatts of new renewable energy generation capacity into Australia’s energy grid. 
 
AirTrunk will procure the renewable energy and associated time-based energy attribute certificates generated by OX2’s solar farm on behalf of Google. The solar farm is expected to generate power from 2025.  
  
AirTrunk Chief Customer and Innovation Officer Damien Spillane said: "AirTrunk is committed to accelerating the energy transition to achieve Net Zero by 2030. Our collaboration with Google and OX2 will deliver new renewable energy capacity into the grid on the east coast of Australia. Developments like this are critical to accelerating progress towards a carbon-free future in Australia.”

COMMUNITY IMPACT | AirTrunkers continue to show their support of our local communities and environments, with our Japan team working together to clean the woodlands in Inzai in order to restore the biodiversity of the natural environment.

AirTrunk Head of Japan, Nori Matsushita said: “Our AirTrunker team continues to demonstrate their passion for local biodiversity and conservation and making a positive impact on our neighbouring communities. This initiative will maintain a healthy environment for the local Inzai woodlands, especially as the spring season approaches.”

AIRTRUNK SYD2 | In less than 20 weeks, we topped out the five-story shell of our latest expansion at SYD2, AirTrunk’s 120MW data centre in Sydney's North.

Adding more than 30MW of custom-built capacity, the expansion supports the continuous and sustainable growth of the cloud. 

With over 160,000 work hours our teams have stayed safe with zero lost time injuries and no critical defects.

MALAYSIA | AirTrunk and Tenaga Nasional Berhad (TNB) have signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) that will see the two companies advance the Energy Transition in the region.

This includes: 
⚡ Collaborating on renewable energy supply for our JHB1 data centre campus 
⚡ Exploring the application of energy storage and other novel technologies that promote green DC operations and Malaysia’s Energy Transition
⚡ Researching opportunities to develop technology roadmaps to advance 24/7 clean energy in Malaysia. 

A ceremony was held where our Founder & CEO Robin Khuda and TNB CEO Dato Baharin Din co-signed the MOU. 

AirTrunk and TNB also inked an agreement to expand the power supply at JHB1 to cater for all remaining build-out of the campus.
