Good article in Vertical Magazine : The FAA states that it “has been working with international regulators for several years on harmonizing our approaches to advanced air mobility certification and integration, and this work is ongoing. It is a priority for both the FAA and EASA, and we have technical teams dedicated to this effort. Additionally, we joined the National Aviation Authorities Network, which consists of the U.K., Canada, Australia and New Zealand, to harmonize our certification criteria and integration plans. Bill Spellane, Alakai's COO, in 50skyshades : "We have two prototype vehicles currently in test flights and we'll maintain those test flights. We'll continue expanding the flight envelope on the tests that we do. We are going through typical engineering exercises to make the product lighter, smaller, more reliable, safer – all of these things. Founded by Brian Morrison in 2015, Alaka’i Technologies assembled a distinguished executive team with decades of aerospace development, production, executive and airspace integration experience (NASA, Raytheon, Beech Aircraft, McDonnell Douglas, Hughes, DayJet, SATSAir, Cirrus, Metro Aviation, Delta Airlines) and FAA certification experience including Cessna, Beechjet, JPATS Trainers, MD500, AH-64, Cirrus, Boeing K767’s, Airbus A380s, Eurocopter AS-350s and Bell 212’s, plus special-mission aircraft.
