Imagine we actually paid the real cost of meat. A whole chicken for £30 instead of a fiver? Factory-farmed meat would be GAME-OVER! Over 80% of Agricultural Subsidies go into rearing and slaughtering animals for food (in the UK, as well as in Europe and the US). It's madness if you think about it for a second, we all pay our taxes to incentivise everyone to eat more factory meat by making it falsely cheaper.
