Is it useful to implement a security feature? It depends. If a security feature is implemented, but not used to prevent or fight against counterfeiting, then it is useless. It is important to use a security feature to take action against counterfeiting. For instance, brands can have inspectors go into shops and hire people to do test purchases. If the feature is available for consumers, communicate that so that it is widely used. As a conclusion, if something is done about it, then it is useful to implement an anti-counterfeit feature. The real size of the anti-counterfeiting market is how much brands are willing to pay to fight counterfeits multiplied by the number of brands. This is more a 100 million dollar market. Why is that?
