Benjamin Thomas wins track cycling's omnium gold 🏅🚴‍♂️

One of our team at ALTEN's Direction of Innovation contributed a small part to this achievement by designing and manufacturing a life-size replica of Benjamin. It was an exciting mechanical engineering project that showcased the expertise of the "Smart Design" unit.

Why create such a replica?

➡️ It allows replacing the real Benjamin for aerodynamic testing in a wind tunnel through a precise reproduction of his morphology enabled by 3D scanning technology.

➡️ It is available 24/7.

➡️ Its movement is perfectly reproducible, ensuring high precision and repeatability of measurements making it easier to make decisions on equipment choices, thereby accumulating aerodynamic gains.

➡️ This mannequin is also one of the very few in its category capable of pedaling.
