Altrad Services APAC Darwin ILNG team today had the pleasure of presenting their seventeenth HSE Perfect Week Campaign donation. The worthy cause selected by team members this month was Palmerston Men’s Club which is a member of the Australian Men's Shed Association (AMSA) Association. The Perfect Week $7,000 donation was presented to John from Palmerston Men's Shed once he had met team members and shared information about the great work of the organisation. The event was well received by all involved, and a luncheon was enjoyed to celebrate the event. Men's Sheds are a community workshop area for men to gather, develop skills, and undertake different activities. Palmerston is one of over 1,200 + sheds across Australia. The first Men’s Shed was established in 1993 in Goolwa, South Australia. Since it was formed, more than 50,000+ Australian men have participated in Men’s Sheds. Men’s Sheds are about increasing the wellbeing of men by fostering social connectedness and increasing self-esteem. Mateship is an important pillar of every Men’s Shed – first and foremost the Shed is a place for men to knock about with a group of like-minded mates. Congratulations to Nasser El-Malak , Steven Hillman and your team for being a part of a great campaign that supports charities and local community groups while reinforcing not only safe work behaviours, but also those related to both quality and performance. Altrad Services APAC are honoured to have been the major sponsor for the Western Rivers Cup which is South West Queensland’s only Indigenous regional cricket carnival. The current Western Rivers Cup model is a joint initiative by the South West Indigenous Network (SWIN) and Queensland Cricket to host the annual tournament in Toowoomba, Queensland. The carnival name recognises and celebrates the cultural significance of the river systems to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people in the region. Each team is named after one of these important rivers throughout Queensland. We have been working with South West Indigenous Network (SWIN) on engagement and sponsorships within in the Queensland regions where Altrad operate so that we can further SWINS aim to 'ensure that through sport, culture and community, Indigenous Australians can live longer and have a better quality of life'. Mitch Barrington attended the tournament on behalf of Altrad and reports that last weekend's competition and twilight event were fantastic! #altrad

Altrad Services APAC Darwin ILNG team have recently had the pleasure of presenting their sixteenth HSE Perfect Week Campaign donation. The worthy cause selected by team members this month was Cancer Council NT . The Perfect Week $9,000 donation is the highest amount accrued as part of the campaign to date. This donation was rolled into the facility wide 'Fighting Chemo' team $14,858 donation raised through their participation in the Darwin Relay for Life. The Cancer Council is the only charity that works across every area of cancer, from research to prevention and support. Every day they support people affected by cancer when they need it most, speaking out on behalf of the community on cancer issues, empower people to reduce their cancer risk, and find new ways to better detect and treat cancer. As a charity the Cancer Council relies on the generosity of the community to continue their life-saving work and make great strides towards their vision of a cancer free future. It was our honour to welcome Page Gravenall from the organisation to meet team members so that she could share information about the great work of the organisation. The event was well received by all involved, and a luncheon was enjoyed to celebrate the event. Gilmore College is located less than ten minutes away from the Altrad Services APAC Kwinana Workshop team, and today 9 Gilmore Electrical and Metals (GEM) students took the opportunity to experience some workplace learning at our fabrication facility. The students joined a site visit to explore a live industry environment, learned about what working in a Trade really looks like and found out more about careers in industry they may never previously knew existed. The Gilmore Electrical and Metals (GEM) Program provides graduates with two Certificates - Certificate II in Electrotechnology (CareerStart) and Certificate II in Engineering. Students learn from experienced industry professionals in state-of-the-art learning facilities specifically designed for hands-on industrial learning. We look forward to welcoming some of you back in the future as Altrad employees! Thank you Sally Coleman and Alex Reid for making this event happen. #altrad
