Anaergia offers an affordable solution that optimizes energy recovery from both wastewater and food waste solids. We call it Omnivore® and it co-digests wastewater solids and food waste to create renewable fuel as well as organic fertilizer .

Check out the first of several steps in the waste-to-value pathway, where the food waste solids are pretreated to assure appropriate size reduction. The pretreated food waste solids are blended and diluted with some of the wastewater to produce a pumpable slurry, which is then stored in a buffer tank.

The Resource Recovery Tour stops again in California, at the South San Francisco-San Bruno Water Quality Control Plant (WQCP), a 9 million gallon per day facility.

To comply with regulations and support expected load growth, the plant's five old digesters had to be revamped. Taking advantage of Anaergia's Omnivore® high-solids digestion technology, only three new digesters were rebuilt: two conventional and one using Omnivore®.

The Omnivore® system combines Anaergia’s OmniMix™ submersible mixer and service box with our robust recuperative thickening technology to triple digester capacity.

The WQCP tapped the added digester capacity and high solids mixing capability to partner with South Bayside Waste Management Authority (SBWMA) in a pilot program to deliver landfill-diverted organic waste to the WQCP Omnivore digester for co-digestion.

We announced today that we've been selected as the Energy Recovery Contractor for a new system that will produce renewable power from wastewater sludge at the East County Advanced Water Purification facility under construction in Santee, California!  We expect to design and build the waste-to-renewable energy facility and provide long-term operations and maintenance after commissioning.
