Andfjord Salmon Group AS kunngjør i dag at utbyggingen av vannveier og tunnelinfrastruktur under bassengene ved anlegget på Kvalnes nærmer seg ferdigstillelse. Fremdriften på alle arbeidsflyter er så langt i tråd med eller bedre enn den opprinnelige tidsplanen. Totalt bygges det ut 4,4 kilometer tunnelinfrastruktur på Kvalnes, inkludert innløpsvei, tunnelinfrastruktur under hvert basseng og utløpsvei. Bare 50 meter av utløpsveien og ca. 500 meter av innløpsveien gjenstår å ferdigstille. I sum betyr dette at tunnelbyggingen på Kvalnes allerede er 85 prosent ferdigstilt, opp fra 73 prosent i begynnelsen av september. – Vi har allerede utført kjerneboring med liten diameter hele veien gjennom utløpstunnelen, og dette ga oss svarene vi håpet på. Ettersom både utløps- og tunnelinfrastrukturen under bassengene er nesten ferdig, kan vi skalere ned antall maskiner og utstyr som er involvert i tunnelbygging på Kvalnes. Vi er svært fornøyde med fremdriften i det som trolig er den mest krevende arbeidsflyten i den nåværende utbyggingsfasen, sier Martin Rasmussen , administrerende direktør i Andfjord Salmon. Andfjord Salmon Group AS (Andfjord Salmon) today announces that the development of the waterways and tunnel infrastructure below the pools at the company’s land-based aquaculture facility at Kvalnes, Andøya, Norway, are nearing completion. The progress on all workstreams is so far in line with or better than the original schedule. A total of 4.4 kilometres of tunnel infrastructure is being developed at Kvalnes, including inlet waterway, tunnel infrastructure below each pool, and outlet waterway. Only 50 metres of the outlet waterway and approximately 500 metres of the inlet waterway remain to be completed. In sum, this means that the tunnel construction at Kvalnes has already reached 85 percent completion, up from 73 percent in early September. “We have already conducted small diameter core drilling all the way through in the outlet tunnel and this gave us the answers we were hoping for. As both the outlet waterway and tunnel infrastructure below the pools are close to complete, we can scale down the number of machines and equipment involved with tunnel construction at Kvalnes. We are very satisfied with the progress of what is probably the most demanding workstream of the current build-out phase,” says Martin Rasmussen , CEO of Andfjord Salmon. Andfjord Salmon has recently signed two agreements to secure sludge collection and processing for its current construction phase at Kvalnes. The Trøndelag-based company Meox AS will deliver ROVs, while the experienced water treatment company Sterner will deliver processing systems. "Finding the right suppliers, who can solve our sludge treatment needs safely and well and who also share our ambitions for continuous improvement and development, has been an extensive process. Both Meox and Sterner have a good track record of delivering on goals, while at the same time working in a focused manner to improve results," says Christian Halmøy Torgersen , COO of Andfjord Salmon. Andfjord Holding AS has completed a block transaction with Jeronimo Martins Agroalimentar, SA (JMA) involving the sale of 2,000,000 shares in Andfjord Salmon Group AS. JMA, the largest shareholder in Andfjord Salmon Group AS, has acquired these shares at a price of NOK 30.00 per share, calculated based on the average Volume-Weighted Average Price (VWAP) over 30, 60, and 90-day periods. This transaction serves strategic purposes for both parties. For JMA this acquisition reflects its confidence on a strategic project with given proofs in terms of quality and high-level standards of production. All ongoing workstreams for Andfjord Salmon Group AS build-out at Kvalnes, Andøya, show solid progress. The next two pools are starting to take shape. “Everything we need to ramp up pool construction is now in place. The plan is to significantly increase production of concrete elements during September. We therefore expect to see an uptick in pool construction during the coming months,” says CEO Martin Rasmussen . In this first phase of the Kvalnes build-out, Andfjord Salmon is completing four new pools, increasing total production capacity to 8,000 tonnes HOG by 2025. This initial phase includes developing shared infrastructure such as waterways and a harbour area that will support future production of 40,000 tonnes salmon at Kvalnes.
