Seeing the impact of bringing business and causes together is what gets us out of bed in the morning – since 2022, Apollo Projects has been a major contributor to our programme that provides funding for secondary school students who may otherwise miss out on competing in regional and national sporting events due to financial constraints. Apollo’s large-scale, ongoing commitment has impacted hundreds of young people including, most recently, students from Te Aratai College in Christchurch who have shared an insight into what the funding meant to them.

🚧 Ground broken for Network Waitaki Events Centre. 🚧 Earlier this week our team members Gerry Sullivan , Alan Baddeley , and Isaac Clark represented Apollo as the team broke ground on the Network Waitaki Events Centre down in Oamaru. The facility, which is located at Centennial Park will become a valuable community asset for various groups to make use of. Last Thursday our team hosted an event for our clients, at the Apollo built Astrolabe Winery in Blenheim. This was an opportunity to thank everyone for trusting us with their projects and working with us to design and build various facilities throughout the region. The region holds great significance for Apollo as it’s where we procured not only our first winery job - an industry we now specialise in - but also our first ever project. 👷♀️ With the event being hosted at the recently completed Astrolabe Winery, it was a perfect way for us to close the loop from our beginnings to where we are now, it gave us time to reflect on the work we have done in the region and look to the future for the Marlborough wines industry. 🍷 A final thank you to everyone who attended the event, we wouldn’t be where we are without your support! 🙌 #community #designandbuild #winery

Earlier this week Apollo joined forces with our long-standing architecture consultant Architecture HDT Ltd to present at the Woodworks Conference in Rotorua. Our team members Dan Green and Mark Wilson attended the conference alongside Alex Head from Architecture HDT. Dan and Alex presented on a few topics, including aquatic centre design principles and the benefit of incorporating timber as well as Design & Build in your next aquatic centre projects. Alex said it “was great to connect with peers and have honest conversations around what’s worked but more importantly what hasn’t so we collectively move forward as an industry.” It was also noted that ECI / Design & Build has been an extremely successful method not only just in aquatic design but across the construction industry as a whole. Getting input from contractors and suppliers early on in the design process allows the job to progress seamlessly from design through to build and ensures that specific expert advice is there from the get go. It’s no secret that Apollo is an advocate of this method, and we promote the design and build process heavily! Overall, the conference was a success and Dan stated that the sessions were informative and provided space to connect with key stakeholders throughout the timber industry. Last month, some of our team, along with the team at Waddell , hosted an amazing evening for Apollo funded Hamilton schools. We had the chance to hear firsthand from students, parents and principals about the difference this funding is making. The funding that Apollo provides goes directly to students who may not get the chance to participate in school sport and it’s extremely important for us to share these stories in hopes to encourage other companies to adopt similar sponsorship activities. The hard work going into completing this project is incredible. Our construction industry is losing nearly one person every week to suicide. 98% of those we lose are our men. Today is World Mental Health Day and it’s a good reminder to check in on those around you. Offer help or your support to those who might be struggling. The theme for this years World Mental Health Day is workplace mental health, and in an industry that suffers greatly from consequences of poor mental health, it’s important for us to shine a light on an organisation working hard to fight this. We can all equip ourselves with the knowledge and resources to help out those around us.
