Last week, the Arevon team came together to celebrate our collective achievements, foster innovation, and build stronger connections as a team. "Empowering Change" was the theme for our annual retreat, but it is much more than that. The theme underscores Arevon’s shared mindset and unifying mission as we focus on #PoweringtheEnergyTransition.
 
As a company dedicated to being an inclusive and equitable workplace, we were especially pleased to host Eric M. Bailey, an award-winning diversity professional, as our guest speaker. Bailey is an engaging, motivating speaker; his valuable insights on enabling diversity through business strategy and company culture were truly inspirational! Many thanks to Yanina Hernandez, Ana Aleman and Claire Hayner for their behind-the-scenes work to make this retreat happen, and to the 200+ team members who joined us for this event

Arevon is thankful to be part of the growing #cleanenergy industry and we are sharing our gratitude by helping our community. Our Cormorant Energy Storage project is supporting the local community in Daly City, California, with holiday baskets and a donation to the Pilipino Bayanihan Resource Center (PBRC). We hope everyone has a safe, enjoyable Thanksgiving!

In recognition of Veterans Day, we want to spotlight Steve Colla, Arevon’s Title and Survey Manager, and a former Marine.  

Steve joined the Marine Corps Reserves with two high school friends in the San Diego area. During his six years in, Steve served as a motor transport operator attached to a medical battalion. In his support role at this duty station, the primary mission was to support the medical battalion by providing medical supplies, such as tents, food, and water to medical teams in the field. His next and final duty station was a mechanized artillery battery, where Steve spent his days pulling howitzers, clearing the way for the battalion to move forward.  

Asked about his most memorable duty, Steve shares, “On several occasions I was able to be part of the color guard and present the American flag and Marine Corps Battle Color at funerals. It was an honor to commemorate a Marine’s service with their family.”  

After his military contract ended, Steve pursued a career as a paralegal. Doing real estate work for a homebuilder led Steve to undertake additional training in land acquisition for infrastructure development. Steve’s passion for the environment drove him to apply for a job at Arevon. “Everything we are doing here at Arevon is vital for our environment.”  

Steve notes that having other veterans in the workforce is a positive because veterans already understand how to work together as a team.  

“I love the company, the culture and the people. I think it’s amazing what we’re doing as a company. I’m proud to have served in the military and now I’m proud to work at Arevon.”

Friday was International Accounting Day and Arevon is celebrating the vital role accountants play in our day-to-day operations. International Accounting Day is a wonderful occasion to highlight the hard work, expertise, and dedication of Hailey Swanson- Bailey, one of our accounting managers.

Hailey is an Arizona State University alum, earning her bachelor's degree in accounting after combining her knack for high school Algebra with her interest in business. Sustainability was a passion for Hailey throughout college and she was enthusiastic to join the Arevon team more than two years ago.   

When reflecting on her time with Arevon, Hailey discussed the vast knowledge she’s gained about the industry. “Because of the diversity of my team members, they have provided me with insight into renewable energy and a welcoming environment.” Hailey’s biggest achievements thus far have been the growth of her department and the opportunity to provide accounting support for Arevon's Moapa solar project.  

During her time working on the Moapa solar plant, Hailey was able to visit the project in-person and found that visiting “helped me put together what a solar site looks like and how it all flows together.” It was a pivotal experience that she felt lucky to be a part of.  

We would like to express our gratitude to Hailey Swanson-Bailey and our entire accounting department in celebration of International Accounting Day.

The IRA in action! Arevon has completed financing for the Vikings solar+storage project, the nation’s first utility-scale solar peaker project. Even more exciting, we're using the IRA’s transferability provision to transfer both PTC and ITC tax credits to J.P. Morgan. Our project finance team worked long and hard to put this deal together.
