ASML is a high-tech company, headquartered in the Netherlands. We manufacture the complex lithography machines that chipmakers use to produce integrated circuits, or computer chips. Over 30 years, we have grown from a small startup into a multinational company with over 60 locations across Europe, Asia and the US.

This technology is behind the latest generation of microchips powering today’s top-end devices. The next evolution of EUV, called high-numerical-aperture or High-NA, is set to debut in 2025. 📈 Our Q2 net sales came in at €6.9 billion, at the high end of our guidance, with a gross margin of 51.3%, higher than guided, primarily driven by additional DUV immersion revenue in the quarter.
 
📊 Our customers across different market segments are currently more cautious due to continued macro-economic uncertainties, and therefore expect a later recovery of their markets. Also, the shape of the recovery slope is still unclear. 
 
⚙️ However, our strong backlog of around €38 billion provides us with a good basis to navigate these short-term uncertainties.
 
📈 Due to strong DUV revenue and despite the increased uncertainties, ASML expects strong growth for 2023 with a net sales increase towards 30% and a slight improvement in gross margin, relative to 2022.

We’re proud to announce that we’ll be intensifying our collaboration with nanoelectronics leader imec to develop a state-of-the-art high-numerical aperture (High-NA) EUV pilot line.

This pilot line is intended to help industries using semiconductor technologies better understand the future opportunities lying within and gain access to a prototyping platform to supercharge their innovations. With many of our key partners involved, this collaboration will enable the exploration of novel semiconductor applications, the potential development of sustainable, leading-edge manufacturing solutions for chip makers and end users, as well as the creation of advanced holistic patterning flows as a joint effort with the wider equipment and material ecosystem.

At the ASML Technology Conference 2023, teams from our development departments and partners shared their innovation stories and showcased the latest technological insights that are pushing the industry forward. 

This year saw a record-breaking 1237 submissions, 566 posters and 94 presentations from the sector's leading voices. From illuminating talks to serendipitous connections between colleagues across disciplines, it was a day full of discovery and inspiration. Together, we will continue to shape the future of technology and enable Moore's Law for years to come.
