10 lessons learned from the Assembly Summit in Munich during IAA MOBILITY:

(1) Considerations of a new geopolitical era and its implications will influence many -if not most- investment and business decisions over the next years. Access to resources matters, new trade patterns will unfold, and many more industrial policies will underpin this new global chapter. These three dimensions will put immense pressure on innovation in the transportation, manufacturing, and energy sectors. 

(2) To de-fossilize transportation a shift to EV-only is not enough. Decarbonization through alternative fuels is as important. 

(3) The battery industry needs to think critically along many different criteria - among them are: economics - sustainability - safety - and access to raw materials which goes along with national security interest. 

(4) Trillions of dollars are still needed to make our mobility infrastructures future-proof.

(5) The way to reach a truly circular supply chain in the automotive industry can become a huge catalyst for many other industries. 

(6) Global mobility will be defined long-term by what will happen in space. A new space race is already a reality. 

(7) Autonomous driving will need to prove not only its technical feasibility but first and foremost its economic superiority by the end of the decade. If done successfully, this upcoming industry will create a transformative impact on our societies and core industries in the 2030s. 

(8) Employees demand flexibility for their own mobility options, and also transparency of their employers´ carbon footprint.

(9) In the US, a couple of million people are already 'paying by car' - and not with their smartphones anymore. And one company is making a difference. It is not an OEM.

(10) What really moves the world is: football! And we always knew it. ;-)

Industry veteran Paul Humphries has joined our company as CEO, seasoned entrepreneur and venture company builder Faysal Sohail becomes Chairman of the Board and our founder Mujeeb Ijaz is now Vice Chairman and CTO. While the last few weeks have been difficult, we are becoming a stronger, more efficient ONE, which will benefit our employees, customers, investors, and the communities where we operate.
