La storia di Avio, originariamente BPD – Bombrini Parodi-Delfino – ha inizio nel 1912 in una piccola cittadina vicino Roma, a Colleferro.
 
 Nei corso dei decenni Avio ha intrecciato le proprie attività con gli indirizzi politici dei governi che si sono susseguiti, ha colto le opportunità offerte dal mercato internazionale, ha saputo accrescere il know-how attraverso una continua innovazione di prodotto e di tecnologia.
