It’s been heart-breaking to see the devastation caused by recent floods across the country, as the UK has experienced consecutive storms. New analysis from Aviva shows that 110,000 new homes – one in 13 – built in the last decade are in flood zones.

We are announcing the completion of a private placement that sees us provide £50 million in funding to Hightown Housing Association, which owns and manages more than 8,700 homes and care and supported housing projects across Hertfordshire, Buckinghamshire, and Berkshire.

This investment was made on behalf of Aviva UK Life, reflecting the continued desire to align investment activity with support for projects across the UK that can deliver social value and long-term benefits for local communities.

Today we have completed the acquisition of Optiom – the Canadian vehicle replacement insurance business for c.£100m (c.CAD$170m).

This supports our capital-light growth and expands Aviva Canada's presence in a profitable area of the Canadian insurance market.

Today, we announced that we expect to receive an additional £80m from the exit of our Singlife joint venture in Singapore.

Total proceeds are expected to be £930m. The disposal is expected to complete in Q1 2024.

To mark International Day of Persons with Disabilities this year, the Ability Community within Aviva Ireland were delighted to host a talk with Michelle Van Valey from Neurodiversity Ireland on Neurospecialized: Reframing Neurodiversity for our employees. The Ability Community aims to advance inclusion and accessibility within our organisation for persons with visible, invisible and acquired disabilities.

We’re delighted to support today's launch of the latest UK Pensions Framework report from the Pensions Policy Institute (PPI).
 
The findings from this report can help our industry better understand the needs of savers so we can give them the support they need to have a comfortable retirement.

This expands Aviva’s capital-light businesses and grows Aviva Canada’s presence in a profitable area of the Canadian insurance market.
