Co-founded by U.S. Women’s National Team legends Brandi Chastain, Leslie Osborne, Danielle Slaton, and Aly Wagner, Bay FC was formed by the largest institutional investment ever made in women’s professional soccer from global investment firm Sixth Street. More details on the 2024 NWSL Draft have been announced by the National Women's Soccer League (NWSL) this afternoon. 

The 2024 NWSL Draft will take place on Friday, January 12 at 5 p.m. PT during the United Soccer Coaches Convention at the Anaheim Convention Center in Anaheim, California. The league has also opened player registration for the NWSL Draft.

The Club announced today the second signing in our inaugural roster, Caprice Dedasco. We are thrilled to welcome a defensive powerhouse back to the West Coast and to #BayFC.

Bay FC made its first signing in Club history today, welcoming back former Santa Clara University Bronco and NCAA Champion Alexis Loera to the Bay Area.

“Alex’s technical ability and passing range makes her the perfect fit for Bay FC’s possessional style of play and epitomizes the tone we want to set for the rest of the team,” said Lucy Rushton, General Manager of Bay FC. Like the Club's Co-Founders —USWNT legends Brandi Chastain, Aly Wagner, Danielle Slaton and Leslie Osborne Lewis—Loera also played at Santa Clara University (2017-2021), leading the team as its captain in 2020 to its second NCAA Division I National Championship win.

This morning, we unveiled plans to invest over $2 million to develop an interim training facility at San Jose State University. 

SVP of Strategic Projects Danielle Slaton noted, “this is just one of the ways we are focusing on supporting our players both on and off the pitch. It begins with this space, distinctly created for women, and will continue to include so much more.”

“We are continuing to strategize and plan for our long-term stadium and training facility locations but investing in this training facility now is incredibly important," said #BayFC COO Jen Millet.
