We had an amazing time last week living our best dolce vita lifestyle at the home of the British Grand Prix, Silverstone racetrack. We served three of our delicious Italian inspired flavours from the world’s smallest Gelateria, an all-electric, zero-emissions Fiat 500 and they went down a storm! Our zingy Lemon, creamy Madagascan Vanilla and Fiat UK’s bespoke Bicerin flavours saw people coming back for seconds (and occasionally thirds!), and we were over the moon with the feedback we received. Thank you Fiat UK for having us and to Lavazza and San Pellegrino for helping us keep everyone refreshed in this incredible setting.

We’re kicking off 2024 with a spotlight on one of our most popular, award-winning flavours… Salted Pistachio 😍 Handcrafted using whole pistachio nuts (rather than almond paste and food colouring like a lot of ice cream brands!), this morish gelato is distinctive and refined with a creamy base overlaid with a natural, salty tang. Pistachio remains a firm fan favourite, but don’t just take our word for it, here’s what one of the Great Taste judges had to say: “A down-to-earth and natural-looking gelato with a gorgeous nutty aroma. Exciting news! In 2024 we’ll be introducing five new mouthwatering flavours to our Signature range. These are all certified fan favourites so form an orderly queue please 😊. All available in 90ml, 450ml, 2.5l and 4.5l from April 2024. Sour Cherry: With each tub containing 50% sour cherries, it’s an explosion of zesty flavour in every spoonful. Sweet, zingy and bold, it’s the ice cream version of those sour cherry pick n' mix sweets you used to have in the cinema as a kid. Creamy Peanut Butter: This creamy gelato is the ultimate rich and full-bodied indulgence. Savoury, sweet and salty all in one delicious spoonful, what’s not to love? Chocolate Orange: Velvety and decadent, our rich chocolate orange ice cream is buttery and silky-smooth. Intense hits of rich chocolate and citrus make for an incredibly tempting gelato. Sea Salted Caramel: Luxurious and delicate, our Sea Salted Caramel gelato combines rich, buttery sweetness with delightful salty notes. Caffe Latte: Creamy and aromatic with light chocolatey notes and hints of caramel. Made with real coffee beans for a sophisticated and earthy flavour profile.

Ice cream and gelato is essentially the same thing, right? You’d be surprised. While both desserts look alike and have similar ingredients in the mix, there are several clear distinctions that separate ice cream and authentic gelato – including how they are made and the taste profile of each frozen treat. Compared to ice cream, Beau’s Gelato has a denser, richer flavour and contains real fruit and other natural flavourings, as opposed to the artificial flavours often found in our competitors ice creams. The denser consistency of our gelato comes from the percentage of air held in the product, which is known in the industry as ‘overrun’. An authentic gelato has a low overrun so uses far less air (containing as little as one part air to five parts ingredients), compared to a high overrun commercial ice cream (which has typically about one part air to one-part ingredients). Less air in the mix means more ingredients per millilitre, resulting in a firmer, fuller scoop and a tub that lasts longer.
