I'm proud to be acknowledged in this Forbes Magazine deep dive into the InvivoX,SJP project, a joint effort between Invivo Wines and Sarah Jessica Parker. Following the model Tim and Rob pioneered with the creation of Graham Norton Wines, they customized and extended the concept with noted actress Sarah Jessica Parker of "Sex in the City" fame. What's significant here is the boys have turned the now-humdrum idea of "Celebrity Wine" on its ear. The concept? REAL and active engagement by SJP by annually creating the unique final blend live with the boys on video streamed and shared with the world. The Savvy B nailed 90+ scores from Wine Spectator and Wine Advocate, arguably the arbiters of quality and brand relevance in the U.S. And from an industry perspective, the two mates rocked the U.S. New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc category by forging a new, higher price point for the varietal with some serious wine-geek street cred backing up the claim. Kudos of course go to the great team at Taub Family Selections who saw the potential at the 2018 WSWA convention and locked in a license. So what does all this mean? That in spite of the gloom and doom in the press we see about the U.S. and international wine business. There's still plenty of room to grow for brands who challenge "the way business is done" and create innovative excitement for a new, younger generation of wine drinkers. That's because while SJP might be remembered by older demographic viewers, she's still very relevant and real to the under-45 crowd. And not just for her name or her work, but her work ethic and real commitment that underpins the entire brand architecture. #sarahjessicaparker #invivowine
