Both companies were co-founded by BGV in 2012 and 2013 respectively. The Acerta Pharma sale was the largest exit ever of a privately held European biotech company.

Before joining BGV, Domhall worked as a Fellow within the Life Sciences investment team at Bioqube Ventures in Belgium. Domhnall earned his 
PhD in Tissue Engineering from the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland (RCSI), funded by the Irish Research Council. His research focused on the development of advanced biomaterial scaffolds, incorporating nanoparticles for musculoskeletal tissue regeneration, with a primary goal of delivering nucleic acids to stem cells. The i-GAIN study, a non-interventional exploration into GA, has already gathered insights from over 100 participants in the UK. Now, with plans to include 10 centers in the US, the study is set to reach new heights. What makes i-GAIN unique?
