Welcome back, Axiom Mission 3 crew! 🚀 BioIntelliSense is proud to play a small part in critical research to understand human health in space.

After 18 days aboard the #ISS conducting scientific experiments and technology demonstrations, the #AX3 crew members are now under continuous monitoring for three days using the BioButton® multi-parameter wearable. 

Researchers will collect and analyze multi-parameter data, comparing the results with measurements collected with the BioButton before liftoff, to gain unprecedented insights into how the human body responds to being in space.

This research is part of a larger initiative of the Translational Research Institute for Space Health (TRISH) which aims to grow our understanding of human physiology in space as commercial spaceflight expands.

🩺 Respiratory rate is one of the two most reliable early indicators for detecting deterioration in low-acuity patients. 

🩺 Manual methods of assessing and documenting respiratory rate are not a dependable measurement for predicting potential complications in patients.

🩺 Yet, manual measurement continues to be the most common way of capturing a patient’s respiratory rate in non-critical areas of care today.
