Our employees came together to assemble 180 back-to-school backpacks for students in our community last week. We put together backpacks for students in kindergarten through 12th grade, filling the backpacks with essentials for the school year. This event was sponsored by Life Science Cares Bay Area, an organization that works within the life science industry to fight poverty and inequalities. We donated the backpacks  to Ritter Center, a local organization that provides services to Marin County residents experiencing economic insecurities and homelessness. Thank you to our employees and to Life Science Cares Bay Area for making an impact in our community!

We’ve welcomed the first high school interns to BioMarin, in collaboration with Biotech Partners – a nonprofit organization dedicated to building biotech career skills among Bay Area youth. Enehemias and Paige are spending eight weeks this summer in our San Rafael labs, learning all about bench research from BioMarin scientists. Enehemias is spearheading the consolidation of our cell line storage databases, while Paige is conducting an energy efficiency analysis of our refrigeration systems. We’re proud to support these scientists-in-training and help cultivate the next generation of biotech leaders.

The company serves specialty pharmacies, hospitals, and non-U.S. government agencies, as well as distributors and pharmaceutical wholesalers in the United States, Europe, Latin America, and internationally.
