Worth reading Blume Equity's Clare Murray piece in PEI New Private Markets on what Europe needs to do to support local climate companies scaling up. I agree with Mariya Gabriel, the EU Commissioner for Innovation, Research and Culture that "we have the capacity and the will to make Europe the global powerhouse for startups, in particular in the new wave of tech innovations." However, European policy needs to incorporate the carrot as well as the stick.
