Tomorrow marks the Lunar New Year. 

Bottega Veneta wishes to all those celebrating in China and around the world a bright new dawn and an auspicious and abundant Year of the Dragon.

Our Lunar New Year campaign, The First Sunrise with You, is starring actress and Bottega Veneta Global Ambassador, Shu Qi. Directed by Jess Jing Zou, the film celebrates the first sunrise of the new year and the emotion of new beginnings.

BOTTEGA VENETA GALLERIA STORE OPENING
 
On January 30th, Bottega Veneta proudly opens the doors to the new store at the historic Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II, a landmark location set between the city’s iconic Duomo and world-renowned Teatro alla Scala, in the heart of Milan. 
Under the Creative Direction of Matthieu Blazy, this two-story store is distinguished by three essential elements: glass, Italian walnut wood, and green Verde Saint Denis marble, blending traditional Italian materials with a modernist sensibility, and honoring the brand’s commitment to innovative craft.

“There are different experiences of space in the store,” said Matthieu Blazy. “I wanted to express the idea of a domestic interior referring to Italian modernist architecture that contrasts with the aesthetic of a spaceship. And to capture the intimacy and the imagination of getting dressed.”

To celebrate the opening, Bottega Veneta will pre-launch three key looks from its Summer ’24 collection exclusively in the Galleria store: Kalimero Cha Cha and Città bags in signature Intrecciato, and the Cha Cha shoe. In addition, the store will open with a limited edition of five unique Kalimero Città bags in python, as well as 15 ceramic handle Sardine bags. Each Sardine is numbered with an interior brass plate.

THE FIRST SUNRISE WITH YOU 

Bottega Veneta launches Lunar New Year campaign, starring actress Shu Qi and directed by Jess Jing Zou.
Under the creative direction of Matthieu Blazy, the film is Bottega Veneta’s fourth collaboration with Jess Jing Zou. With photography by Ken Ngan and a bespoke track from Sega Bodega, The First Sunrise with You carries forward similar themes of travel and togetherness, while centering on the singular moment of the new year’s dawn.

With its scenes of reunion and range of landscapes and cityscapes, The First Sunrise with You foregrounds not only the transition from one year to the next and the emotion of new beginnings but also the journeys we make to spend precious moments with places and people we hold dear.
The film captures Bottega Veneta in motion, with a spotlight on exclusive designs for the Chinese New Year capsule collection. The collection is themed around the Year of the Dragon, with highlights including Andiamo, Sardine, Orbit sneakers, and a bespoke Jodie with dragon-tail handle.
