Welcome to the Brancaia Wine Estate. | It was 1981 when the Swiss couple Brigitte and Bruno Widmer fell in love with the at the time abandoned Brancaia wine estate in Castellina in Chianti and purchased it. In 1986 Brancaia made the first rank in an important blind Chianti Classico tasting organised by the Swiss wine magazine Vinum and, after that, rapidly gained international recognition.
This lead to the purchasing of a second estate in Radda in Chianti in 1989, followed by a third one in the Maremma region, only 10km from the Mediterranean coastline, in 1998.

At our estate in Castellina in Chianti, the olive trees grow in a unique amphitheater layout—a rare setup that makes our grove truly special.
