Burberry has launched a new scarf made from Brewed Protein fibre, a next-generation, lab-grown material produced through the fermentation of plant-based, renewable ingredients. This innovative material was developed by Spiber and is being used for the first time in luxury products. The scarf features the B shield motif, inspired by Burberry’s heritage of innovation, and includes twisted fringing. Burberry plans to use this sustainable fibre in soft accessories, starting with a scarf that contains 62 percent wool, 8 percent cashmere, and 30 percent Brewed Protein.
