We’re just scratching the surface of what fintechs will do with stablecoins, but 2024 will be a year of experimentation, and new payments products that bring together banks and blockchains.

💰International money transfer service revenue was c. $37.8 billion last year.

🌐Top 3 transfer corridors are UAE > India, US > Mexico, US > China.

📱The new digital front-end enabled by the likes of ZepZ Pay, Wise and Remitly has altered the economics of the game, cutting fees to 1-3%.

🚧 The backend still needs work. Of the 44,000 banks in the world, only ¼ are interconnected via SWIFT and other networks – the remaining rely on correspondent banks, adding cost and time. Blockchain platforms can mitigate some of these issues.
