“The latest drill results from Central lend further support to recent evidence from drilling that a high-grade zone of mineralization exists within the core of the primary basement Central gold deposit, just as at the nearby MG gold deposit. 

Furthermore, all of the holes reported here cut significant intercepts of soft weathered gold-in-oxide mineralization, supporting previous drilling that a third significant zone of gold-in-oxide mineralization sits above the primary un-weathered basement deposit at Central. We look forward to the results of the ongoing drill program at Central as well as the results from the four other drill rigs which are currently active at the nearby MG, Machichie, PDM and Indio targets.”

Cabral Gold Reports Positive Results from New Surface Trenches West of Machichie Main Zone, Cuiú Cuiú Gold District

“The significance of these results at Machichie is in their location between the most westerly drill hole at Machichie and earlier trenches excavated a couple of hundred metres further west, which returned 5m @ 8.3 g/t gold. 

The lateral extent of the Machichie gold system appears to be significantly larger than previously thought. With additional trenching, and drilling about to start in this area, and diamond drilling also in progress at Central, MG and Indio, we anticipate an exciting few months for Cabral’s shareholders.”

“During the last 12 months we have identified three new zones of near-surface gold-in-oxide mineralization at MG, PDM and Central as well as a deeper zone of hard rock gold mineralization at PDM. 

This unprecedented success has meant that for the last few months the four drills that we currently have on site have been focused on drilling off these new discoveries as well as expanding the two known gold deposits. 

The arrival of a fifth drill rig gives us the ability to drill test more of the regional targets at Cuiú Cuiú as we seek to discover additional gold deposits within this prolific district”.

“The preliminary metallurgical test results (bottle-roll tests) from unconsolidated material which comprises the gold-in-oxide blanket at MG are highly encouraging, and indicate gold recoveries of up to 97% after 48 hours. The next step is to subject the samples to column leach tests, and those results should be available during May.

The drill results from the underlying primary MG deposit continue to outline a central high-grade core to the primary hard-rock MG gold deposit with the mineralized zones all open at depth”.

Furthermore, these results confirm that significant zones of high-grade gold mineralization occur within the underlying, unweathered and hard basement gold deposit.

“The results from recent trenching west of the main E-W trending Machichie mineralized zone suggest there could be a significant extension to the zone as we currently know it, indicating a possible 60% addition to the strike length of the known mineralized structure. 

Whilst further trenching is ongoing and drilling is planned, this is a major development in our efforts to determine the size and scope of the mineralized zones at Machichie, which is located just 500m north of the MG gold deposit. It also adds further support to previous drilling which identified numerous near-surface high-grade vein structures in this area of the Cuiú Cuiú property. 

With the existing two gold deposits at MG and Central, the recent discovery of three near-surface gold in oxide blankets, and a new hard-rock mineralized zone at the PDM target, Cuiú Cuiú is rapidly emerging as a significant gold district, containing multiple zones of near-surface gold mineralization, which are all located in close proximity.”

“The results from the initial drilling at the Central gold deposit clearly demonstrate that we have a significant zone of gold-in-oxide mineralization forming a blanket above the primary Central deposit. This is the third gold-in-oxide blanket identified at Cuiú Cuiú since the initial discovery at MG in April of last year, and these recent discoveries are in addition to the two existing hard-rock deposits with resources at Cuiú Cuiú. 

At this stage, we do not know the extent of the blanket or how much of this material at Central is in-situ weathered primary gold mineralization, and how much is transported cover material. Nevertheless, both types of material are expected to add significantly to the inventory of potentially leachable gold-in-oxide deposits recently identified at MG and PDM. Additional drilling over the next months is expected to further define the limits of the oxide material at Central, whilst providing further definition of the high-grade zones within the underlying primary deposit at Central.”

“The results from DDH239 confirm the presence of a significant zone of primary gold mineralization in the granitic rocks directly beneath the gold-in-oxide blanket at PDM. These results come soon after the results from DDH238 located 120m to the SE, which returned 22.4m @ 4.8 g.t gold and indicate continuity of the mineralized zone along strike. 

On the basis of these results, we have taken the decision to expand the diamond drill program at the PDM target and we look forward to further drill results from this exciting new mineralized zone at Cuiú Cuiú. 

In addition, the presence of gold-in-oxide mineralization over 100m east of the current eastern limit of the gold-in-oxide blanket at MG, opens up the possibility of significant additional oxide mineralization further to the east than previously thought”.
