This week I’m in Switzerland directing communications for CFT at the UBS ETH Zürich DeepTech Investor summit. Sounds a little dry, doesn’t it? Except…

🌌 I took a 🌙 swim in freezing lake Zurich amongst all the twinkly city lights as they reflected off the surface of the water.

🍽️ Experienced some incredible food and more wine than, frankly, I’d like to encounter again for quite some time.

🔥 Basked in the lakeside sauna, stayed in a beautiful hotel, met some incredibly smart people and tomorrow, I’m hiking up the mountain. 

It really doesn’t matter which sector: communications is at the heart of everything. 

Getting under the skin of a company, its product and its message is as immersive and exciting as exploring a new city and its people. Luckily for me, I get to do both simultaneously.

The words ‘global impact’ get thrown around - but #foodsecurity is a real and tangible threat to our future. All of us.

There are more people on earth than ever before. 

And, according to the UN, the world's population is expected to increase by nearly 2 billion in the next 30 years. 

We need to find and fund completely new solutions to address labour shortages, crop wastage and traceability. 

And we need to do it FAST.

This is why we found companies. This is why we invest in innovation. To help to solve global challenges like food security. 🚀
