As Capital Rx continues to celebrate #BlackHistoryMonth and #AmericanHeartMonth, we wanted to take a moment to recognize Dr. Edward S. Cooper! Dr. Cooper was the first Black national president of the American Heart Association (AHA). Did you know that he served in that capacity for three decades?!?

While at the AHA, Dr. Cooper highlighted health education and preventative #healthcare programs while also addressing the needs of minorities. He even partnered with two presidents' administrations to secure transparent food labeling.

At Capital Rx, we are #wearingred on Fridays throughout the month of February to draw awareness to heart disease.
