#WearYourWins "As a girl, you cannot do that." was a phrase I heard a lot growing up, but it never really discouraged me. Instead, it's been my fuel to do everything people said I couldn't.

I come from a small, remote village called Alambadi, where beliefs are quite old-school. I'm one of three girls in my family, and from a young age, we were told that certain activities were “off-limits” for girls—things that only boys should do. Ironically, these were the activities I loved: playing every sport, driving vans, helping my dad with his carpentry work by chopping and carrying wood, and pursuing higher education. My mom and dad were my biggest supporters, always encouraging me without letting gender dictate what I could and could not do.

Despite being told by society not to pursue my higher education, I enrolled in a college in town - and graduated with distinction.
It was in college that I fell in love with wrestling! My physical trainer saw the potential in me and began training me. I soon started competing in various wrestling tournaments which gave me an unmatched adrenaline rush. I love the energy, the risk, and the way it made me feel so strong and confident. Wrestling became my escape, a place where I felt powerful and in control.

After my dad passed away, I became the breadwinner for my family and moved to the big city of Bangalore, where I work as a Jewelry Consultant while also pursuing my Master's degree and taking care of the household.   CaratLane has been incredibly supportive, with a team that truly cares and looks out for each other and from time to time, I still get to compete in district-level wrestling tournaments.
