Celanese Corporation, a technology and specialty materials company, manufactures and sells high performance engineered polymers in the United States and internationally. The company operates through three segments: Engineered Materials, Acetate Tow, and Acetyl Chain. The Engineered Materials segment develops, produces, and supplies specialty polymers for automotive and medical applications, as well as for use in industrial products and consumer electronics. It also offers acesulfame potassium, a sweetener for use in various beverages, confections, and dairy products; and food protection ingredients, such as potassium sorbate and sorbic acid for use in foods, beverages, and personal care products. The Acetate Tow segment provides acetate tows and flakes for use in filter products applications. The Acetyl Chain segment produces and supplies acetyl products, including acetic acid, vinyl acetate monomers, acetic anhydride, and acetate esters that are used as starting materials for colorants, paints, adhesives, coatings, and pharmaceuticals; and organic solvents and intermediates for pharmaceutical, agricultural, and chemical products. It also offers vinyl acetate-based emulsions for use in paints and coatings, adhesives, construction, glass fiber, textiles, and paper applications; and ethylene vinyl acetate resins and compounds, as well as low-density polyethylene for use in flexible packaging films, lamination film products, hot melt adhesives, automotive parts, and carpeting applications. In addition, it manufactures ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene. Celanese Corporation was founded in 1918 and is headquartered in Irving, Texas.

Celanese is pleased to announce that it has been approved by the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE)'s Office of Fossil Energy and Carbon Management as the first Utilization Procurement Grants vendor. The company is now the only producer offering low-carbon acetic acid under the ECO-CC product name, which positions it to help municipalities meet the growing demand for more #sustainable and #circular solutions.

This includes Celanese ECO-CC products manufactured using carbon capture and utilization technology, which have demonstrated significant net reductions in life cycle greenhouse gas emissions and passed a critical DOE review of the product’s life cycle analysis.

As we continue to share more on our recently announced partnership with Under Armour, we want to highlight The Nonwovens Institute (NWI), which has helped make the new NEOLAST™ fiber a reality. 

Utilizing NWI’s Fiber Spinning Lab, Celanese and Under Armour worked with the Institute’s fiber spinning experts over the course of two years to fine tune the production process for this innovative new alternative to elastane.

Our Dallas Latino Impact, Development & Empowerment Resource (LIDER) employee resource group recently donated $20,000 to Otis Brown Elementary School, its signature partner. Committed to fostering growth and connection to the Latino community, LIDER strives to empower individuals to make a positive impact.

Otis Brown’s mission is to nurture holistic student development and academic success, particularly for its predominantly Hispanic, U.S. first-generation and Spanish-speaking students. Roughly 86% of the student population is also economically disadvantaged, so this partnership aims to support students and educators by bridging educational gaps with essential incentives and resources.
