Last week, our National Geographic Learning team partnered with Arab Gulf Education to host inspiring events centered around Sustainability in Education for K12 educators in Dubai and Doha. Together, they delved into critical topics such as integrating sustainability into curriculum, bridging the gap between cutting-edge science and classroom education and igniting change to shape a sustainable future.

The events featured engaging speakers, captivating talks with National Geographic Explorers and interactive experiments that brought the subject matter to life. Charlotte Ellis, Head of Strategic & Digital Marketing - EMEA ELT, expressed her enthusiasm, stating, “once again we have all come away empowered with new knowledge and a fresh impetus to have a positive impact on our communities and the environment.” #globaleducation #edtech #sustainability

The spring semester is in full swing, and our employees have been actively traveling to college campuses making sure students start strong.

Recently, Emma Bradford visited the Metropolitan State University of Denver where she enjoyed helping professors and students get set up for the semester. She noted that, “by the end of the day I was seeing some of the same students for a second or third time, they appreciated the convenience of having so many of their classes were all on one platform.”

Bridget (Lavin) Hales and Lindsay K.. worked with over 50 instructors and teaching assistants at Virginia Tech. Through informative sessions and valuable discussions, they provided guidance and shared best practices to ensure a successful start to the semester. Bridget expressed confidence in the preparedness of those they met, leaving campus with a sense of fulfillment.

Melanie Kinzie traveled to the University of the Incarnate Word San Antonio where “several students and instructors expressed their gratitude, as I was the only publisher on campus who could provide in-person help.”

Even a snowstorm couldn’t deter Amanda Carr and Bridget Gerrety from supporting students at Columbia University in New York. Their dedication shone through as they braved the weather to assist students, ensuring a smooth transition into the semester.

Elizabeth Kline Metzger and her team made a significant impact by helping over 450 students at the University of Kentucky activate their courses on MindTap. Elizabeth shared her excitement about the energy she felt from a room packed full of students who were ready to successfully take on their new classes. #edtech #highered #customerengagement

In today's fast-paced world, maintaining a healthy work-life balance is more critical than ever. At Cengage Group, we provide employees with a company-wide Wellness Week off at the end of the year to prioritize their overall well-being. Last week, we introduced Jessika Ward, as part of our EDUCATION EMPOWERS series, which highlights stories from students and educators across our businesses. While working at a television station, Jessika discovered that there was a lack of hair stylists specializing in black hair. This eye-opening experience, combined with an opportunity to cover a story on black hair, ignited Jessika's interest in the world of cosmetology.

The decision to return to school and explore something different, was not easy, however Milady’s digital resources made learning engaging and enjoyable. Watch the video to learn more.
