The company’s bold vision is for Zero Methane Agriculture  by bending the climate curve. because cutting methane will significantly slow short-term global warming.  CH4’s urgent initiative is to cut methane emissions from livestock by making available to the world  sustainable, globally-scaled products containing a unique seaweed.  This special seaweed, Asparagopsis, has over 10 years of research behind it and has shown effects of 60-90% reduction in methane emissions from both dairy and beef cattle and sheep.

As we, at CH4 Global, work to make Asparagopsis products real, we are committed to doing this in a way that makes it easy for farmers to adopt and that will benefit communities where we aqua-farm. We are collaborating with local communities to ensure that all can benefit from our work.

🔍 Why is this important? The Innovative FEED Act aims to streamline the regulatory approval process in the United States for certain animal-feed additives, like our seaweed-based cattle feed supplement, which can reduce enteric methane emissions by up to 90%. 

🤝 We're not alone in this. The National Milk Producers Federation (NMPF), a key player in the dairy industry, is also championing this cause. They have launched a Call to Action campaign, encouraging widespread support for the bill. 

✅ Here's where it gets interesting: the Innovative FEED Act is a rare example of legislation that bridges political divides. For many on the right, it represents a meaningful move toward deregulation, simplifying the path for innovative animal-feed ingredients to reach the market. For many on the left, the legislation would promote a more sustainable agrifood system. And for both sides, the Innovative FEED Act promises to strengthen the competitiveness of American farmers in the global market for beef and dairy products.

ELIMINATING THE EQUIVALENT OF 75% OF THE EU’S AGRICULTURE EMISSIONS

According to Climate Watch, the GHG emissions from agriculture consist mainly of non-CO2 gases produced by crop and livestock production and management activities. And with agriculture emissions of 391 MT Co2-e in 2020, the EU is one of the world’s top emitters.
 
We can eliminate 75% of that equivalent by feeding our Methane Tamer™ feed additive to just 10% of the world's cattle (150 million). While Methane Tamer is scientifically proven to reduce enteric methane emissions from cattle by up to 90%, even assuming a conservative emissions reduction of 70%, the equivalent would be like reducing 75% of the EU’s 2020 agriculture emissions.

In other words, we can dramatically reduce enteric cattle emissions NOW – and that’s an immediate win for the climate and life on this planet.

As Lab Supervisor for CH4Global, Sheik Md Moniruzzaman keeps one thing top of mind: enable our company to produce quality Methane Tamer at commercial scale. While that covers the big picture, Sheik’s day-to-day activities in the lab get into the nitty-gritty of helping us achieve that goal.
