Special guests were swamped with signatures when they visited Chelsea’s training ground in January, as part of Chelsea Foundation’s community days.
 
The community days, which were the first to take place in 2024, were an invitation to Chelsea supporters who have been going through tough times to visit Cobham for an unforgettable experience.

Inspirational Blues fan receives an epic Chelsea experience💙
 
From testing out a new football gaming centre to meeting Reece James at Stamford Bridge, Alfie Draper’s week went from appearing on Michael McIntyre’s Big Show to attending two home games.
 
Busker Alfie, who has cerebral palsy, had no idea he was appearing on the comedian’s Saturday night prime time show. During the episode Alfie was shown testing out a football game centre with a friend. While he was controlling former Blues striker Frank Lampard, the man himself greeted Alfie and eventually all was revealed. 
 
Charities administrator Sally Mills, as well as the Fan Engagement team saw the show and spotted a potential charitable gesture for Alfie, inviting him to a couple of games at the Bridge, and even the opportunity to meet one of his idols, Reece James.
 
Alfie will now join the next cohort of supporters to watch the men’s team train and meet with the players.

Pride of Chelsea quarterly award winner revealed🏆

Chelsea Football Club is delighted to announce Ricky Dowling, Head of Kit and Equipment, as the final quarterly Pride of Chelsea award winner for 2023. Also recognised by the colleague judging panel for their outstanding efforts, and in a close second place, are our remarkable runners-up:

Ricky’s nomination was by Chelsea Foundation’s Sally Mills, under the Value of ‘Do the Right Thing’. Sally’s nomination praised Ricky’s decision to continue the work of former Blue, Christian Atsu in building a school in Ghana. The Ghanaian player was tragically killed during an earthquake in Turkey in March 2023.
 
Pride of Chelsea is the club's values-led recognition scheme. Four winners are chosen each year by a colleague judging panel. Ricky is our fourth and final winner for 2023.
 
The deserving winner will now receive £500 and be shortlisted for the prestigious Pride of Chelsea annual award.
 
A huge congratulations to Ricky and all the fantastic runners-up.

Hayes becomes first woman to win FWA Tribute award🏆
 
Chelsea manager Emma Hayes became the first woman - and the 42nd recipient - of the Football Writers’ Tribute Award on Sunday evening.
 
Hayes's influence on the women's game has extended beyond Chelsea. She has been a key figure in driving change and setting standards across the industry, which is something she hopes will help the next generation of women's players flourish.
