I recently heard from a friend that his parent had been diagnosed with stage 4 cancer. We are very lucky to live at a time when there are exceptional diagnostic tools, procedural tools, doctors/staff, treatment options and facilities available to treat patients with stage 4 cancer, improving outcomes and life expectancy.
Several years ago, when my father was battling his cancer, he would tell me he was going to win and beat this! We cheered him on as he fought the good fight and I knew it made a difference for him that we were all fighting at his side. It wasn’t enough, he lived for a year and 2 weeks after his diagnosis. As you might expect, i think about him often and wonder if he had current opinions available to him, would he still be alive?
There are many warriors out there who have a much better chance at winning today than my father did because there are many more weapons to use. I work in the cancer diagnostic industry and have met many exceptional people who are fighting cancer as physicians, nurses, program directors, and industry leaders. We are all working to provide the best options for each individual. 
I was missing my dad today and hoping my friend and his family can win. Im cheering for them as well.
