We’re delighted to announce that our development of the world’s first geopolymer cement emission reduction methodology has been approved and adopted by the UN’s Executive Board of Clean Development Mechanism 🌏 Why does this matter? Because the cement industry alone contributes to 7% of global carbon emissions, with China's share accounting for over half of that. By driving emissions reductions in cement production, we're taking a crucial step towards achieving carbon neutrality goals. Unlike traditional Portland cement, geopolymer cement utilises waste materials like red mud and fly ash, eliminating the need for high-temperature calcination and significantly reducing energy consumption and pollution. This not only makes it environmentally friendly but also unlocks the potential for resource utilisation of waste materials. The approved methodology provides a standardised approach for calculating and verifying emission reductions, motivating businesses and investors to actively engage in low-carbon cement projects.

Over the past months, many have asked me what exactly we’re doing at Climate Bridge . In a nutshell, we help companies neutralise their unsubstitutable emissions with climate projects that we develop to avoid or remove GHGs - the most common product of which are carbon credits. While eliminating our societal over-reliance on GHGs is always the starting point and end-goal, the reality is that we need to stop global warming before the world is ready to stop using fossil fuels. 🧑🌾 One of the industry’s mega trends is to increase transparency about projects’ ongoing ecological and social impacts.
