In the latest episode of the Women in HealthTech Show, Catherine Davies invited our COO, Kate Woolland, to join and speak more about her professional journey, what led to her joining the digital health ecosystem, and how personalized medicine can transform patient care. 

🩺Talking about the current state of healthcare, Kate explains that historically medications have typically been prescribed based on the average effect that they have on a population, not taking into consideration individual needs and response to treatment. 

💊 This approach leads to many patients being on the wrong dose, not getting optimal outcomes, and experiencing adverse drug reactions. We also know that nearly all women are overmedicated and experience more adverse effects because of the lack of gender diversity in clinical trials. 

In this episode, Kate discusses how our team at Closed Loop Medicine is working to solve these problems. Through optimized drug dosing in combination with digital care, we can support an automated, data driven, personalized therapy for patients, while addressing one of the biggest challenges in modern healthcare – the lack of availability of healthcare professionals.

The Annual British and Irish Hypertension Society (BIHS) meeting is taking place in Aberdeen this week. 
 
On Wednesday morning, in Session 7A, Dr. David Collier, will be presenting further data from our clinical study, PERSONAL COVID-BP, where he was the Principal Investigator. The trial recently completed with Queen Mary University of London and Barts Health Trust. 
 
The trial evaluated our hypertension product, CLM-HT01, which is a single-label combination product designed to support patients in the management of their blood pressure. The preliminary results, published in the Journal of the American College of Cardiology, are very promising and we are looking forward to seeing the final findings published soon! 👩🔬
