🌍 Participation in IOC's Annual Conference COACH A, together with our sister company, Coach U, Inc. has participated in the annual conference hosted by Institute of Coaching (IOC), Harvard Medical School, and McLean Hospital, which was held in Boston, USA over two days from May 3rd to 4th, 2024. Coaching Research Institute (CRI), a research entity under COACH A , has shared insights from the research paper "How Can We Evaluate Coaching Sessions? Validation of the Session Evaluation Scale and Its Relationship with Coaching Effectiveness" to contribute to the result measurement and coaching's contribution to business. ◼ Highlight This year's conference was held under the theme "Journey from Coaching Competence to Wisdom." Keynote speeches were given by world-renowned researchers and medical professionals, including Martin Seligman, the father of positive psychology; Robert J. Waldinger, author of "The Good Life: It's Never Too Late to Be Happy" and director of the Harvard Study of Adult Development; and Amy Edmondson, a researcher in leadership and organizational learning, renowned for her work on psychological safety. The central theme of the 12 keynote speeches held over the two days was the question: "How can we, who are involved in coaching, bring a positive impact to the world with the wisdom of coaching, which is the wisdom of humanity?" From the conference, several key points were emphasized: 🔷 Embodiment of Coaching Values: Coaches are seen as "world leaders" who embody "humanity," "mutuality," and "mattering," striving to fundamentally change society by living these values. 🔷 Navigating AI and Technology: The importance of maintaining the human essence amid technological advancements. AI, if used thoughtfully, can support and enhance coaching by fostering empathy and expanding its reach. 🔷 Creating a Movement: The goal of transforming the coaching community into a global movement. This involves promoting science-based coaching, fostering critical thinking, and ensuring meaningful interactions to positively impact the world.
