We’re pleased to announce that we’ve been awarded a $130 million loan from the EBRD to invest in our work in Egypt. 

We’ll use this loan to finance our capital expenditure and working capital requirements and further invest in developing our people and sustainable business practices.  

The loan will be complemented by a grant of $750,000 from the Global Environment Facility (GEF). We’ll invest this money in advanced wastewater treatment technology and water management systems in Egypt, in line with EU discharge standards. 

Our Chief Financial Officer, Anastasis Stamoulis says: “This collaboration with EBRD as a strategic partner is an exciting development for our business in Egypt and is founded on our common goals of developing people and progressing sustainable business solutions.”

In Nogara, Italy, up to 1.5 million m3 of water will be added every year to the local aquifer by a joint project between Coca-Cola HBC Italy and the Consorzio di bonifica veronese.

We’re proud to have signed a long-term agreement to create a Forest Infiltration Area near our Nogara production plant with the Consorzio di bonifica veronese. We expect work to start in Autumn 2025.

The Forest Infiltration Area will be a new network of canals, trees and shrubs that will help revitalise fresh water in this area. Water extracted from the River Adige will continuously flow into the network of canals to refresh the groundwater acquifer. 

From this aquifer, hundreds of local wells will be used to extract water for agriculture and community use. The acquifer will be more resilient to weather fluctuations, for example the amount of water collected will be reduced in the summer season when the river flow is lower.

This project is one of the ways in which we’re building our knowledge on how to manage water programmes that bring benefits to local communities. These include the Living Danube Partnership that runs in six countries that we operate in.

Earlier this year, three exceptional members of our Coca-Cola HBC team – Yiannis Vidras , Misan Ilesanmi, and Suad Tabaković - were selected to carry the flame of inspiration at the Paris 2024 Olympic Torch Relay! They were chosen from more than 480 colleagues who shared their inspiring stories and demonstrated their embodiment of Olympic values. 🔥🏃‍♀️

On 12 July, they travelled to Dijon, France, for an unforgettable experience, running with the Olympic flame and creating memories that will last a lifetime.

A #NewWorld awaits all students after college. 🌍 For 18 of them, it's time to take a sneak peek into that world and put theory into practice. 🧠💡

During the #CokeSummership #internship they will have their mentor, their project, their favorite drink whenever they want, their computer, stickers... And most importantly - their voice! 📢 For the twelfth year, we're giving students the chance to spend six weeks of their summer gaining experience that will shape their future career development. They will see what it takes to get one bottle of Coke from the factory to the hands of the consumer, and they will experience the complexity of #FMCG industry to understand what is necessary to remain a market leader. 🥇🏭🥤

Quite a lot of work for an #intern. 😉 That's why we are all here today to provide them with the necessary support because we want our interns to experience the company as if they were already a part of it. They may get that opportunity tomorrow, considering that more than 80 of our colleagues are former Summershipees. 💪🏼
