What a week we’ve had at Comanche Biopharma!

We announced an oversubscribed $75 million Series B financing by a top-tier syndicate of investors, endorsing our innovative science, our notable clinical progress with our lead drug candidate CBP-4888, and our experienced team of siRNA and maternal health experts tackling the extraordinary unmet needs in preeclampsia. 

We welcomed two new board members, Scott Gottlieb, M.D., Partner at New Enterprise Associates (NEA), and David Grayzel, M.D., Partner at Atlas Venture.

Most importantly, we helped to further amplify the impact of preeclampsia on mothers and their babies, in addition to families, healthcare systems and communities around the world. 

We must all do better for women and their families – and the Comanche team is driving toward a potential solution!

This capital investment by a top-tier syndicate will enable us to advance our mission to develop and make globally available the first treatment targeting a root cause of preeclampsia: over-production of the protein sFlt1 by the placenta.

Existing investors GV (Google Ventures), F-Prime Capital, Lilly Asia Ventures 礼来亚洲基金, and Longview Healthcare Ventures participated in the Series B round, joined by new investors New Enterprise Associates (NEA), who led the round, and Atlas Venture.

Comanche Biopharma Strengthens Board of Directors with Appointment of Dr. Ann Taylor

Comanche Biopharma is pleased to announce the appointment of Ann Taylor, M.D. to its Board of Directors. Dr. Taylor brings a wealth of experience and expertise, having held academic positions at Harvard Medical School and key leadership roles at Pfizer, Novartis, and AstraZeneca.

“We are honored to welcome Dr. Ann Taylor to our Board of Directors,” said Scott Johnson, M.D., CEO of Comanche Biopharma. “Her extensive background in academic medicine, the field of reproductive endocrinology, and clinical drug development will be instrumental as we enter the clinical stage of our company.”

Dr. Taylor's distinguished career includes serving as the former Chief Medical Officer at AstraZeneca, where she championed patient advocacy and led groundbreaking research and development initiatives. Her leadership at Novartis (NIBR) involved spearheading cross-functional teams focused on cardiovascular and metabolic diseases research. Additionally, at Pfizer, she was the Clinical Lead for the early obesity portfolio. 

Expressing her enthusiasm for the appointment, Dr. Taylor stated, "I am excited to contribute to Comanche's mission of addressing the global maternal health crisis as a member of the Board of Directors. Their commitment to improving outcomes in pregnancies complicated by preeclampsia aligns perfectly with my passion for patient-centered, high-quality healthcare."

Allyson Felix, the most decorated female Olympian in track and field history, is also a tireless advocate for maternal health. Her extraordinary journey on the track is paralleled by her personal journey off the track as a mother who faced a severe complication during her pregnancy - preeclampsia. This life-threatening condition brought her face-to-face with a serious health challenge and amplified her strength and resilience.
