Each year, ComAp donates a portion of its philanthropy budget to the Mini-Grants initiative, developed to support various non-profit organisations worldwide that are nominated by our employees who are actively engaged with them. This year, the Mini-Grants Committee chose the following non-profit charitable organisations: 🔺Unison Alberta is dedicated to addressing the challenges faced by seniors in Alberta, Canada, including homelessness and poverty. “My involvement with Unison at Kerby Centre began earlier this year during my internship. I volunteered in the Seniors Support department, assisting seniors with navigating systems, applying for benefits, and securing affordable housing. Providing emotional support has also been rewarding, especially for those facing loneliness or abuse,” says Gabriela Ribeiro Rosa, Office Manager at ComAp Canada. 🔺The Nina Foundation supports research into tumour-related diseases in the Czech Republic to improve the level of treatment for young patients. 🔺 Barevný svět dětí (Colourful Kid World): The mission of this NGO is to support children at risk and families in difficult situations. They provide comprehensive support based primarily on social work, psychological counselling and therapeutic support. “I used to work there as a project coordinator for a social programme called ´Buddy´ and now I serve as a member of their Supervisory Board,” says Martina Tomanová , ComAp´s Training Coordinator. 🔺Bellis is a project of the Alliance of Women with Breast Cancer. It focuses on helping and supporting young patients (of working age) who are undergoing or have undergone treatment related to breast cancer. 🔺 Společnost E / Czech Epilepsy Association supports people with epilepsy and their loved ones, providing support, education and peer programs. “Having employees so engaged in supporting their local communities, especially groups in need, makes us proud, and we would like to thank everyone for their dedication to each cause. A big thank you for letting ComAp be part of their volunteering story and we hope these grants will help make a difference,” says Barbora Vajnarová , Global Marketing Communications and Sustainability Manager.

Getting Creative at Our Autumn Morning Moss Art Workshop for ComAp Employees 🍂 This Tuesday, we came together to embrace the season and our creativity at our Autumn Workshop! Employees gathered at our Prague HQ for a unique, hands-on experience, creating beautiful kokedamas and seasonal moss art. The workshop was led by Aranzerie, a social enterprise of Spolecnost E, a non-profit organisation dedicated to supporting individuals with epilepsy and their loved ones, which we also supported within our Mini-grants programme. It was a morning filled with creativity, community, and, of course, the delicious addition of pumpkin spice lattes!

Control System Retrofit for a 100-Year-Old Hydropower Plant in Ljubljana, Slovenia, with InteliSys 2000! We are in the process of creating a new video case study after the recent retrofit with our new InteliSys 2000 controller. The retrofit was carried out by the local hydropower plant packager, Electrical, led by Bostjan Kokolj . The InteliSys 2000 control system is not only suitable for CHP and gas engines but, thanks to its versatility, can also be utilised for hydropower plants. “The whole control of the electrical part (measurement, protections, synchronisation, breaker control, P-Q management, grid codes, etc.) is already prepared in the unit; it only requires PLC programming for the turbine control part,” says Lukáš Mrkvička , Senior Product Manager for InteliSys 2000. The third area of our recently published ESG report is dedicated to Corporate Governance. ComAp follows best practices in Corporate Governance, including the UK Corporate Governance Code. “We have always been inclined towards UK governance standards. They offer a principle-based system rather than a strictly rule-based system, commit to transparency, focus on board independence and accountability and clearly separate roles of Chair and CEO,” explains Libor Mertl , one of the founders of ComAp and a Board Member. ComAp will also implement International Financial Reporting Standards to increase its transparency and is committed to maintaining zero instances of bribery, adhering to anti-trust regulations, and complying with applicable sanction regimes. ComAp has also established a global whistleblowing guideline and internal system, including appointing a dedicated whistleblowing officer to ensure transparency and accountability.
