The lifelong healthcare compliance work of Catherine Nichol, RN, CHC is indeed something to celebrate. Ambulatory surgical center care just wouldn’t be the same without her. “Catherine has been a steady guide to many in the ASC industry for years — someone who has always maintained an incredibly high bar and approach to her work,” says Compass Surgical Partners CEO DJ Hill . “She has deeply influenced how co-founder Sean Rambo and I think, and her ethos is the bedrock of our firm.” “While Catherine has been an important part of Compass, basically since day one, her influence on hundreds of thousands of lives began well before her time with us,” Hill adds. Catherine began her career as a surgical nurse. As an ASC administrator and senior executive at several ASC management firms, Catherine has helped to create and maintain the settings where ambulatory surgical healing happens. A skilled teacher and leader, Catherine’s influence has radiated across the ASC landscape. She has been a long-time member, board member and chair of the California Ambulatory Surgery Association , a speaker for the Health Care Compliance Association (HCCA) , and an AORN contributor. When Catherine retired earlier this year, Compass Surgical Partners celebrated her lasting contributions with a Lifetime Service Award. The ASC will offer a range of minimally invasive heart and circulatory procedures such as diagnostic heart catheterization, coronary interventions, peripheral interventions, and pacemaker and AICD implantations. The facility “will blend the best in customized specialty care with affordability and convenience,” said Compass Market President Scott Bergman, MBA . Orthopedic technology is advancing rapidly, Compass Surgical Partners COO Robert Carrera said recently in an interview with Becker's Healthcare Orthopedic Review.
