CordenPharma and pHLIP, Inc. are pleased to announce their strategic alliance to collaborate in developing and commercializing the pHLIP-LNP targeted delivery platform for RNA-based and genetic therapeutics. The alliance will combine CordenPharma’s proprietary Lipid NanoParticle (LNP) technology and GMP manufacturing expertise with pHLIP’s proprietary pH (Low) Insertion Peptide (pHLIP®) targeted delivery technology and drug development expertise to formulate (pHLIP®) coated LNPs for use by biopharmaceutical companies seeking to deliver mRNA-based and gene therapy payloads. Such payloads can be used to treat cancer, inflammation, and genetic diseases, or employ mRNA strategies for vaccination. The companies believe that their novel pHLIP-LNP platform will greatly enhance the commercial viability and success of many pioneering RNA, DNA and CRISPR therapies. The alliance will also enable CordenPharma and pHLIP to collaborate in developing and manufacturing small molecule drug payloads directly conjugated with (pHLIP®) peptides for biopharmaceutical companies seeking to selectively target their small molecular payloads into cells in acidic diseased tissues. CordenPharma serves as the CDMO supplier in the GMP manufacture of pHLIP® peptides and (pHLIP®) drug conjugates, and the new alliance further builds upon their collaborative efforts in this important field.

We are delighted to share the beginning of our journey on corporate responsibility at CordenPharma. It’s a story of commitment and collaboration that showcases our passion for being active and at the same time helping those less gifted. The KMSK CordenPharma Team Challenge was a unique opportunity for us to extend our support of the Swiss Association for Children with rare diseases, "Förderverein für Kinder mit seltenen Krankheiten – KMSK" https://www.kmsk.ch/.

It was an opportunity not just to raise awareness but also to make a tangible impact on the lives of children and adolescents battling rare diseases. Together we had a common goal: to accumulate as many "Fredis" as possible doing many physical activities, no matter which activity. The focus was just to keep on moving! 
 
Our collective effort demonstrated the strength of our team, as we gathered a total of 40.263 Fredis, securing the 11th position among all participants. Our commitment to corporate social responsibility and promoting well-being remains at the core of our identity. We are determined to explore more opportunities to support causes that align with our values and help us to make a difference in society.

There are often good ideas at CDMO manufacturing sites on how to make the medicine more efficiently – after regulatory approval – which is stifled by customers unable or unwilling to face costly and time-consuming regulatory changes all over the world.”

The CordenPharma Team celebrates World Diabetes Day! Our contribution as a CDMO supports pharma & biotech innovators in the development and manufacture of life saving medicines for the successful treatment of diabetes, a disease that affects one in 10 adults worldwide.

Diabetes is a chronic condition that affects how your body processes glucose (sugar). There are different types of diabetes, with the most common being type 1 and type 2. 
While Insulin is essential for people with type 1 diabetes, it must be injected subcutaneously (under the skin) or administered via an insulin pump. Type 2 diabetes is characterized by insulin resistance. Several classes of oral antihyperglycemic agents are used to manage it like Metformin, which is a common first-line medication that improves insulin sensitivity, and Sulphonylureas, that stimulates the pancreas to produce more insulin. SGLT-2 inhibitors are a class of medicine used to lower high blood glucose levels.
GLP-1 analogues are well-established treatments for type 2 diabetes. They improve glycemic control through several mechanisms and have the added benefit of inducing weight loss without the risk of associated hypoglycemia. These molecules have also demonstrated favorable effects on obesity, NASH and on cardiovascular events, such as cardiovascular mortality, stroke, myocardial infarction, and albuminuria.
