The story of Cornell starts in 1946 when five people working at Pacific Pump Company decided to head out on their own.

Having a complete service department, they became familiar with what most of the common pump failures were. Many motor failures came from pressure spikes during operation, overloading capacity and water related failures of the pump end motor bearings.

Cornell Pump celebrated Halloween at a Pumpkin Patch on October 19, and at our Clackamas Factory today. We enjoyed an exciting adventure at Liepold Farms, where more than 150 employees and family members participated in hay rides, apple ‘chucking’, corn maze, festival sights, and a catered lunch. Today, many employees dressed up for Halloween, and we held an online pumpkin carving contest. CLAYTON SMITH RETIRES AFTER MORE THAN 40 YEARS AT CORNELL Cornell recently gathered to celebrate Clayton Smith's retirement after over 40 years of service. Clayton began his career at Cornell as a CNC Operator in June 1981 and retired as a Manufacturing Engineer on August 2, 2024. Throughout his tenure, he taught numerous Cornell Pump operators the intricacies of CNC production and programming. He also spent more than 30 years as an instructor at Clackamas Community College, sharing his CNC expertise with students. In his retirement, Clayton looks forward to traveling, photography, camping, and spending time with his wife and adult children. We wish him all the best, with much-deserved happiness and health in this new chapter.
