June is Migraine & Headache Awareness Month. Migraine is a word that most know, but few can fully appreciate — it’s a debilitating, throbbing, one-sided head pain that can leave patients in bed for days. As we raise awareness for this condition and patient community, consider these statistics:

🧠 According to Coalition for Headache & Migraine Patients, 16% of U.S. adults have reported experiencing migraine or severe headache. This is more than 42 million U.S. adults, or 1 in 6 households.
🧠 The number of migraine attacks each month can vary, but the impact of quality of life is consistent — more than 90% of people report being unable to work or live their lives normally during a migraine.
🧠 People with very frequent migraine attacks - meaning headaches on 15+ days each month and migraine characteristics on at least 8 of those days - are said to have chronic migraine.
🧠 According to the World Health Organization, people with migraine or other severe headaches miss an average of 7 days of work or activities per year.

Each week when we gather for our All Hands, our Client Solutions team shares examples of our tech platform positively impacting patients. Recently, a client was gracious enough to spend time with us, sharing firsthand about the ultra-rare disease state they support, challenges faced by patients & loved ones, and recent patients wins. They also shared some of the day-to-day challenges they face in their role, which is a high-stress job where unexpected situations regularly arise.
