In his remarks during a celebration of the company’s 75th anniversary, CEO Michael Levy told the hundreds of employees who gathered, “A momentous anniversary such as this is a natural time to reflect on our achievements, relish our successes, and take note of the remarkable progress we’ve made over the past years and decades. As an enduring enterprise, it is equally important to contemplate what’s to come in the years and decades ahead.”

Local dignitaries, Carteret Mayor Daniel J. Reiman, industry professionals and stakeholders joined members of the Crow Holdings Development team for a formal ribbon-cutting ceremony of the 1.2 million-square-foot warehouse/distribution property in Carteret.

Attendees had a chance to tour the world-class campus and see firsthand its location benefits of being less than ½ mile (one traffic light) off Exit 12 of the New Jersey Turnpike.

The three-building property at 300, 400 and 500 Salt Meadow Road is ready for occupancy, featuring prebuilt offices and 40-foot clear ceiling heights, as well as a combined 299 trailer parking spots, 174 dock doors with fully equipped loading docks and six drive-in ramps.

Managing Director Sterling Hillman contributed “Food & Service Retail: Small retail has big potential” in the November issue of Institutional Real Estate Americas. In it, he highlights the latest trends in small-format, convenience-oriented, open-air, food and service shopping centers. They are proving to be a thriving, internet-resistant segment of the retail sector and a compelling investment opportunity, thanks to the fundamentals of retail — location, convenience, and enduring demand.

Crow Holdings Development’s team in Los Angeles was proud to partner with PROJECT STRONG ONE, supporting the group’s disaster relief and recovery efforts after the fires in Maui. PS1, an organization that bridges the needs of Active Duty, Reserve, National Guard, First Responders, and their families both past and present through unique programs, partnerships, and collaborations, needed indoor storage space on a short-term basis to receive, sort, and ship out nearly 100 pallets of supplies and perishables. Crow Holdings Development gladly donated its temporarily vacant warehouse space near the airfield, helping the team serve out its mission over the past several weeks.

Crow Holdings and Southern Methodist University Managing Director of Research Mark G. Roberts, CFA, AIA co-authored an article with Jake Wegmann, Assistant Professor at The University of Texas at Austin, defining a new real estate asset class: moderate-income rental housing (MIRH), defined as rental housing that is affordable to residents earning less than 80% of an area’s median income. The two co-authors examined the risk/return profile of these assets compared to the broader real estate market, especially as more investors take interest in applying ESG principles.
