🔥Developing and utilizing UI/UX design systems is becoming a standard practice in development. They present a comprehensive collection of design standards, reusable components, and guidelines that help create consistent UI/UX, which is highly beneficial. 💡In one of DashDevs’ cases, the customer used a modular architecture in its super taxi and delivery app. To ensure a unified design, the decision was made to create a custom design system, which would be used across all services and housed in a standalone module. We developed the design system from scratch, making it a tokenized system where each icon, color, font, and spacing has its own identifier, simplifying and speeding up development. The color tokens support both light and dark modes, enabling developers to handle dark modes without additional effort. Using these foundational tokens, we created basic UI elements like buttons, which then served as the basis for building more complex components. 👉Advantages of this approach include the following: ✅ Unified design: All software modules follow a single design code. ✅Scalability: The custom design easily meets growing demands regarding the creation of new modules. ✅Development speed: Service developers don’t need to recreate the same elements multiple times. ✅Reduced maintenance costs: For instance, updating an icon in the custom design system will automatically update it across all modules. ❗Drawback: If a service needs a UI element not yet in the design system, it will have to wait until the element is implemented and included in the next release of the design system. In fintech, there are multiple names for financial institutions involved in payment processing. 🏦 For example, a sender’s bank, a receiver’s bank, an intermediary bank, and a correspondent bank. With the first two, misunderstanding is rare. Since an intermediary and a correspondent bank concepts cause the most confusion, let’s delve into them and sort things out! ✅An intermediary bank. It’s a financial institution that facilitates transactions between two parties, typically from different countries, when a direct relationship between their banks doesn't exist. Examples: Raiffeisen Bank International (Austria), Danske Bank (Denmark), U.S. Bank (USA) ✅A correspondent bank. It’s a bank that provides services on behalf of another financial institution, often in a foreign country. Examples: JPMorgan Chase (USA), HSBC (UK), Deutsche Bank (Germany) 👉Both intermediary banks and correspondent banks facilitate domestic but, more often, international transactions. Yet, they differ in scope. 💡As such, correspondent banks, typically larger, handle multiple currencies and offer broader financial services like cash management or trade finance.
